Eilat
13815Eilat is the farthest southern point of Israel, where Egypt, Israel and Jordan meet. Eilat is a port city, settled in 1950 on the Israel, or west side of the head of the Gulf of Aqaba, an arm of the Red Sea. It boasts fine beaches and 360 days of sun each year. It is a combination port, military installation, and vacation land. There are also granite quarries in the area. The Queen of Sheba Hotel is about a mile away from the Jordanian border. Glass-bottomed boats give the tourist a look at the wonderful marine world, including beautiful corals that thrive below the surface of the Red Sea.

Petra
petraThe rosy red city of Petra is located in the country of Jordan. This
ancient Edomite city and Nabataean capital is renowned worldwide for its dwellings carved from solid rock. Ancient sites include temples, tombs and homes sculpted into the cliffs, including the Nabataean Judgment Hall and Roman Amphitheater. Many have seen the great-carved treasury building, carved out of solid rock, and narrow siq as portrayed in the movie “Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.” Petra is the place where many Bible scholars believe Israel will flee to during the days of the great tribulation.
