The most important thing you can take with you to Israel is a Great Attitude! Hotel staff, bus driver, guide, porters, and waiters all work very hard to please you. Should you have difficulty with any, or all, please inform Dr. Crisp or your tour host so they may handle the situation. Traveling regularly, he knows these people and is familiar with how to address situations abroad.
Joking about bombs will not be tolerated at any time on this trip! All threats are taken very seriously and you may be pulled aside.
Any sharp objects must be packed in checked baggage, or it will be taken from you.
Remember you are guests in a foreign country. It is not the USA, and you have no rights there as citizens; you are guests.
Security - You may be selected for questioning at some time by security officials. (All you have to do is answer the questions honestly.)
Keep in mind you are traveling with a group, so please be on time to board the bus when instructed to do so, and please honor the amount of time allotted at various sites for shopping and pictures.
In general, Americans are very spoiled and not good travelers. The rest of the world looks at us as the “great complainers and whiners”. Our prayer is that our group will not live up to that perception but will give everyone in Israel a pleasant view of US travelers.
