Tony attended Riceville Elementary School and McMinn County High School in McMinn County, Tennessee.  After his Divine Call to ministry he left his home to study in Dallas, Texas where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies at the Criswell College and Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Dallas Baptist University.  He was awarded the Doctor of Divinity Degree from Southern California Seminary, while serving as Senior Pastor of the First Southern Baptist Church of San Diego, California. While in California, Dr. Crisp served at the highest levels of Southern Baptist life both on the state level serving on the Executive Board and as the chief parliamentarian of the Executive Committee and the Southern Baptist Convention of California. Tony also has taught Old & New Testament Studies and New Testament Greek and Pastoral Theology classes at various seminaries, colleges and universities. Dr. Crisp has an additional two years graduate study at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and has extensive on-site research in Israel, Jordan and the Mediterranean countries of the Bible. He is presently earning the Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Leadership at Tennessee Temple University where he has been named Director of the Center for Holy Land Studies.

Tony continues to develop the vision and ministry that God has laid before him. "The Holy Land Satellite Atlas, Vols. I, II, III" and DVD should be released soon. The editing and formatting continues in Cyprus and here in the states. He spent nearly 65 days in Israel and the Mediterranean in from Jan 25-May 30, 2009. "After spending extended time in Israel, Dr. Crisp said, "There has never been a better time to travel in the last 40 years than now. I pray some of you can join us this coming year and walk with us through the land of the Bible." The Center for Holy Land Studies is progressing. The primary courses have been developed and more are on the way.  He is now working to implement a curriculum that will involve the greatest Bible teachers from around the world to train university and seminary students, pastors and professors in full semester courses. There will also be two week intensives where seasoned pastors and staff, Sunday school or Bible Fellowship teachers can go and be trained "on-site" in the study of God's Word.

Dr. Crisp has served as an advisor to both public and private educational institutions across America in areas of curriculum, public relations and institutional advancement. He has served on various committees and boards at every level of denominational life among Southern Baptists. He is recognized by his peers for his down-home humor and his Biblical approach to leadership. He is known across the nation for his clear Bible exposition and ability to teach complex Biblical concepts and make those more understandable to the common man.  He is recognized across the nation among evangelicals as a leading authority concerning the history and cultural context of both ancient and modern Israel in relation to the Biblical texts.

Since being back in his home state of Tennessee Dr. Crisp has been involved with many boards and agencies and was given the "Character Award" by the 18 County Chamber of Commerce Group "C.A.R.E" in East Tennessee for being  "The Leader in Character Education in the Region's Public School Systems."

Dr. Crisp is an active member of "American Israeli Public Affairs Committee" (AIPAC) and serves on the prestigious National Council of that body; which has been called, "most influential and effective 'Pro-Israel lobby' group in the United States."
